Default Fixing a broken transmitter battery compartment

I have an old transmitter that stopped working, and i found out that that AA battery holder was broken, so two of the batteries were not doing anything (the metal springs and stuff broke off

it looks like i can get something like this and get the right connector...

Black Plastic Battery Holder Case Box Wired w Cover for 6 x AA 9V Batteries - Newegg.com

or something like these "transmitter batteries"...

Transmitter Batteries - AMain.com

All advice is appreciated

Oh and it's this old crappy tx that i have

Helion HRS-3.1 2.4GHz 3-Channel Transmitter

EDIT: Well, even with 4 of the 6 batteries, it turns on and moves the steering servo, but throttle does nothing. not sure what the problem is now
