I've had good luck with Castle Creations' Sidewinder Micro. Even had one take a dunk in the Wisconsin River. Quick hit with a heat gun to dry, and it's worked fine since.

Strongly recommend getting a CastleLink and a CC 10 amp external BEC.

The blue thing in this pic, \/ , is the BEC, and immediately to the left of it is the Sidewinder Micro.

I've recently purchased a pair of Holmes Hobbies' BR Mini speed controls. Haven't gotten them up and running yet, though, can't comment on how good they are.

Again, would recommend a CastleLink and BEC with this one too.

This, \/ , is how big the Holmes BR Mini is.

Rumor has it Tekin's got some pretty small units, too. But I don't have any experience with those, sorry.

I run a br mini and a cc bec in my sporty's and in my pro rigs. They are awesome and Tiny!
Not to mention purpose built for crawler's, with all the programming already done to start with, straight from HH!

Thanks fellas. I was just about sold on the tekin rs gen 2 when I spotted a trak power brushless combo. According to the specs ( and what my guy at the LHS says), it's a great product for a good price. It's the ms series brushless racing system although I ended up going with a 21.5T. For $150 I'm hoping its what it's advertised to be. Oh and the esc is just a touch bigger than the gen 2.

Brushless is ok for crawling but not the best way to go, unless ur running a LCC..
For 150$, you could of had a killer brushed setup.. Say a Br mini(70$) and a torquemaster pro (65$) or crawlmaster pro(75$).. For less and be better for crawling..
Not that I doubt anything will be wrong with the brushless setup.. Just for info and knowledge.. : thumbsup:
Let us know how it all works out..

It's great if you run sensored, like an RSGEN2 and ROC412 combo. Sensorless just doesn't cut the cake and the cogging/motor starts are too rough.

Its a sensored setup. Haven't got a chance to run it yet though.

I only run Holmes stuff for several reasons. The number one benefit other than his stuff kicks booty is they will rebuild motors and replace or fix a broken speed control for a fraction of the original price. Holmes has the best customer service in the game brother.

It's great but still not the best option for crawling..

Now, in my scx, son's wraith and my Sexo.. Tekin esc's All day, everyday!
Scx and sons wraith have RS'S pushing HH Trailmaster BL sensored 3100kv on 4s(!) and the Sexo has a RX8!(was running a Pro4 4000kv on 4s, but after the last rotor gave out after 10mins, I gave up on it..) Now a Pro4 3600-4300 HD or a T8 going in it..
Had fxr's in all my rigs before the HH Br mini came out.. Still have one in my one.. 2 of my mini's.. never replaced one and just got a mini with one in it already..

So by no means, Any disrespect to Tekin! : thumbsup:
It's just that brushed is better for a crawler.. ;) (IMO)

This I can agree with. I'm really enjoying have a brushed scaler again since I built my parts bin Honcho and I just setup my Ascender with the same T30 combo. For G6'n, I love the ROC412 in my JK, Wraith and Bronco. Both have great qualities and I could drive any of them in either type of scenario. Brushed still rocks!

Update: I ended up going with the Tekin RS Gen 2. The trak power ESC only went up to 50% on the drag brake. What a waste...
