Question separate battery to power winch

The title says it self I was curious if you could use a small separate batter to power a winch system on an axial wraith? If so what size lipo would I use? cause I'm using a venom 5000mah 2cell an I would like to leave the power that has to my truck an use the other battery to power the winch, is that possible?

That's what I was thinking but then would I need to run a. Bec for the mini 2s lipo to control the power output of the battery?

I have the warm winch with the wireless control unit. I've never had it connected to anything but it's own battery directly connected. I started using a 25c 4000 mah 2s venom. Then switched to a 1800 mah 2s venom, now an using a 60c 2200mah 3s turnigy. All you should need to do is check your winch manufactures recommended voltage. The warn from rc4wd is 3s capable. Some others are only 2s like my son's integy, which he also runs of of direct battery power same as me.
