HobbyWing QuicRun WP-10BL60 review.

After my CC Sidewinder V2 died (lost a phase due to water, liquid electrical tape, or otherwise). I figured I'd give the HobbyWing QuicRun WP-10BL60.
Things I wanted & the good:
Waterproof
Non-sensored
Adjustable (best done with a program card)
4mm female bullets installed on motor leads
Inexpensive $48 shipped

The bad:
No battery connector just wires
Clunky switch design
No solder posts
3s Lipo max

My setup is a 6pole helli motor 2830 1000kv sized in a Tamiya CR-01 on a 3s 4000mAh pack with a 20t pinion.

Personal setup:
FWD/REV
0% drag brake
Voltage cut off 3.2v per cell
Start mode #5
100% brakes
75% reverse
Neutral Range 6% (narrow)
Timing - 0 deg
Temp protection - on

Impressions:
Smooth & it just works. The CC Sidewinder had a funny step between startup & running (start power high).
The fan is a little noisy, but after an hour I unplugged it & finished the trail with no fan to see how it holds, worked fine.
The Programming card (car ESC V2.0) was separate & cost $12 and works with a lot of HobbyWing ESCs.
The Neutral Range 9% (normal) is too wide & there was a huge pause from forward to reverse & vice versa 6% is much better...
The BEC is rated 6v 2amps, I only have one servo on the chassis (177oz) and it drives that fine.

For my water forging trail trucks I have had too many issues with sensored motors getting "funny" once wet & simple is better.
The 2830 motor has more torque than I could ask for.

I'll be testing it more soon but first impressions are promising.

I run a 10BL60 Sensored and it work fine!
For the price I like it.. the first one had some problems but the second one is flawless...
Just need to finish the WP on it!!

Three solid days of use & still running strong.
Saw deep water action for the past couple of days... just silly fun.

What size is that Morton considered. I want to mount one in my scx10

Morton is small as can be seen by the specs from the page.

380s are 28 mm in diameter. 16/19 mm bolt hole spacing

540s are 36 mm in diameter. 25 mm bolt hole spacing

3racing makes a motor plate if you don't want to mess with adding a slot... # AX10-07 full kit or # AX10-16 for the plate only
I did grind a flat onto the shaft there is none.
The motor comes with 3.5mm bullets, so you may want to make an adapter from 4mm to 3.5mm
The 2830 series has a LOT of torque... I'm geared for about 5-7mph & it blew out one of my Traxxas slider drive shafts on a climb.

1000kv will likely be a little slow for a 2s I'm on 3s & it is just right or a touch slow.
11.1 volt x 1000kv = 11,100rpm
8.4 volt x 1321kv = 11,096rpm

This might be a decent 2s motor...
