internal esc bec or external bec

hi guys im new to crawlers and have a question. I will be running a tekin rs gen2 esc. it has an adjustable voltage bec that will go up to 7v and 5.5a max.
does that seem like enough to run a solar D772 servo in my wraith? if so what voltage should I run it at to make it easier on the bec.

no you never need one. ever. The supposed need is propaganda by the insiders. The people who have been doing it for years and years, and have put that knowledge and experience into putting out an idea that is completely misleading. You don't NEED a BEC, in the way you don't NEED to drive you car with your hands when you have perfectly good feet.

I suppose if you want it to work at its best, and not to have any issues, one could infer that an external BEC is an option. But if you prefer to learn on your own, put your crawler together without one, then once you burn up your esc, a couple servos, puff a battery, and open new threads about the sick new mod you have where you removed the shocks and now you get mad articulation, then forgo the BEC.

do you think I can run the solar d722 straight from the 2s lipo?

also if that wont work, is the 10amp bec on in this link (small blue bec) the correct one to get?

Not sure it will live direct. 8.4 is a little high for prolonged operation, IMO.

The internal BEC in my Wraith's stock ESC has been running my Hitec HS-7955TG servo just fine for months. I've even burned-out multiple motors because I was being too hardheaded about proper gearing, and the ESC still works just fine, BEC and all.

The only time you ever need any mod or upgrade is if the stock configuration doesn't meet your needs. Try it with the internal BEC; if it doesn't work well enough, get an external BEC. This is not rocket science.

I would not run the bec at 8v but that's just me. I would say with a 5.5 amp bec that is adjustable to 6v you would be fine with one servo. I ran my 7955tg on my stock speedo for a short time. It was a 5v 2a. Worked just not the greatest. I have the castle bec now.

can you tell me which castle bec i should get. If im not mistaken I see they make two, a 10a bec and then the pro bec. I am assuming the 10a is the way to go.
