| rx8 for rock crawling
I have what i think is then gen 1 rx8 (3 holes on bottom, black). My question is whether or not it has enough drag brake in one of those 13 drag brake values. I need the crawler to be able to sit still by itself sometimes and have confidence it'll stay.

Welcome to rcc on your first post........ It will never work. The rx8 needs more cowbell and less giggawatts to the flux capasitor! Yes there is enough but couple factors come into play...... Motor, gearing and tire size. |

It is a 1.9 rig. Spur clearance is very limited so 57t or smaller is what I'll be using, will it be sufficient? Also , what pinion should i use, 12 in 32p is the equivalent of the stock pinion. |

56/12 is what I use in my scx, 8lb rig.. Holds it just fine. I'm using a HH Trailmaster BL.. I have RX8's in my yeti and Sexo too.. But they are turned down to the 50% range.. They will kinda hold, in some situations.. Lol.. If I turn the drag up on them, they just flip over as I let off the throttle. |
