Default Servo throw

I posted this in the 1.9 forum and realized it belongs here.
Has anyone used resisters to increase the servo throw to 180°.
I saw a video where its been done with standard servos but will it work with a digital servo as well.
I believe the potentiometers are the same but wonder if some one here has done it yet.
I'm aware some hitec models have this ability but savox apparently does not, I have the 1230 savox, at $.99 for a couple resisters it would be a lot cheaper then buying a new high end hitec unit.
Thank you for your time and sorry for putting this in the 1.9 forum first.

Why do you want/need 180 travel?

I just installed the vp 8° hubs and knuckles but the throw of the servo is stopping me from getting all the upgrade has to offer.
When I spin the servo horn 180° I get no binding from the strc cvds and would like to have that travel available.
I'm thinking of a few other ways to do it as well, I believe the vp panhard system maybe part of the issue.
I'm still pretty much a noob in the crawler area of the hobby so if I'm missing something please feel free to enlighten me.

Thank you gentlemen for taking the time to help a noob who should have known better, it was late when I did the initial assembly and I didn't see the rear hole on the knuckle the next morning.
I was looking at another post and saw the rear hole mount in a pic someone had posted and it hit me like a rock upside the head.
Now I have to back off the throw with the radio to stop the strc cvds from binding.
Feel like a bit of a dumb ass but at least its done.
