| Dual battery setup questions
I'm getting a honcho in a week or so, and my local hobby shop said I could use a dual battery connecter in a stock honcho. Problem is, I'm sticking with 2s LiPo's and I would like to know if using two of the same 2s LiPo batteries with the stock ESC will hurt anything. Thanks in advance!

So long as its a parallel adaptor not series it'll be fine, it just be like have a battery of double the capacity not double the volts. Having said that it's a 30sec job to change batteries & a lighter chassis handles better, the more batteries & junk you've got on it the more it'll be laying on its side. You don't say what size lipo your planning on getting but a 2s 4000 should run you best part of an hour. |

I run dual 3s 2200mah mounted on top of my sliders using a parallel wiring harness and the orig. esc. But I have to use a external BEC (battery eliminator circuit) with the orig. castle esc that came with my Honcho. Other Axial rigs come with a newly designed Tactic system and is no longer compatible with the castle products. But it is switchable and can run 3s LiPo straight out the box (rtr). 2s wired parallel is still only 7.4 volts... the parallel harness simply combines the mah for extended run times. You could just use a single 2s battery of higher mah rating and mount that laterally across the frame just in front of the transmission. Running duals works for me... But they must balance/ballast each other out in order to be worthy of doing. jmo Duals can also add more weight if selecting the wrong battery size. My 3s 2200 mah combined is 4400mah so a single 4000 - 5000 mah 2s LiPo could be more cost effective and weight reducing for some. I personally like the added weight. But that weight needs be mounted as low as possible. And that's why mine are mounted atop the sliders. Because I utilize a full Dinky interior in my honcho... battery placement and room to do that is a critical thing. Here's some pictures of my duals mounted atop the stock sliders. realize that a 2s LiPo is smaller then 3s so it should be easier |
