I would go for the mamba max, 5 amp bec, drag brake, brushed or brushless, very programable, smooth low end power, cool green color...

| ![]() The Mamba is NOT for either brushless or brushed... the Mamba is strictly for brushless motors. But the Mamba Max is for both. The question would be wether you want to go brushless or brushed. The mamba is a good esc for crawling, but it only has 1.5 amp BEC. The Rooster is going to be for the brushed motors. Are you looking at the new or the old Rooster? or the Super Rooster? If you can find a Super Rooster, they work great for brushed motors. JohnRobHolmes is a great person to ask. If you want a choice of brushed or brushless, go with the Mamba Max. I've got one waiting for my TXT (still on a UPS truck somewhere, I might have to paint the damn thing brown) which I'll pair up with a Hyperion 3013. I think the combo would be too much for a Mamba-25 in a pig like a TXT, although it did fine in my BB-51 TLT rig. To run a brushed motor you'll have to make a Franken-cable, but it's nothing too difficult. The Max dumps out 900+ amps in brushed mode so you could run all the lathe motors you wanted. The USB programming is without a doubt the coolest thing ever. Also worth mentioning is the new Novak Crawler system. Although it won't do brushed motors, it's got more wheelspeed than an outrunner, and just as much torque. Be sure to fit some Revo driveshats. Maxx shafts will go pretzel on you with a big brushless. |
