Default 2 different esc's for dual esc moa setup???

is this ok??? can it be done??? like if I have 2 totally different esc's sitting on a shelf I should be able to use those with an 8ch hacked gt3b and a 6ch receiver. right??? cause I can change and equalize the motors even if the 2 esc's run the motors at a slightly different speed. right? I'm new to this and I just got this controller.

Technically it'll work. But each motor may behave differently causing unwanted side effects that can't be dialed out with the radio.

Best bet is to use the same esc's with the same firmware. Preferably the same wear and tear on them.

But the least ideal setup that I'd be willing to run would require the esc's to be from the same manufacture because they'll all likely be programmed similar to each other and use similar hardware. But I highly doubt Holmes, Castle, Tekin, Novak, etc all use the same switching frequencies, motor driving/braking algorithms, hardware, etc.

Now if you was doing sensored brushless. Then you might have a better chance because I think those systems are mostly constant speed to where Brushed systems are more of a constant torque system. But, the sensors allow speed to be a reference to throttle position as to where there's no sensors in a brushed motor so the torque output will vary depending on how the esc drives the motors.

All hobby controllers are simple voltage chopping devices, brushed or brushless. The throttle curves would probably be different, and the startup speeds are not all the same. So you probably won't have matched performance, but it might be close enough for you to use two different controllers.

you were right. didn't work very well. I mean yes it worked but the one esc didn't have a straight to brake setting so it free wheeled when I tried to dig. oh well. learned something new. lol.

I just hooked up my dual Tekin FXR's for my crawler and used the hot wire to make both profiles the same. But how will the voltage cut off work? I set each one to 3s for the lipo I'm using . Is that right? I have not ran the battery all the way down anyway but I want to be safe.

I run 2 FXR's and only have the LVC on 3s on the rear ESC. Front is turned off.

So when it goes into cut off only the front motor turns, and you know it's time to change packs?
