HH 35T without a doubt. Best motor on the market for the money.

I am running Tekin 35T, 30T Pro, and Holmes 30T crawltorquesportmastersomething (the $45 model). The Holmes motor is fine, but the Tekin's, for me, offer better off-idle and low-speed control. Run all 3 in an SCX10 and TF2, fwiw, ymmv and all that. Quite honestly, the RC4WD 35T brushed motors at $10 or however much work just as well............... |

Those cheapie RC4WD's go forward, go reverse, are fine in water/gunk, spray them out afterwards, swap them when they're shot/worn out. What do other brushed motors do differently in a crawler except cost more? Not saying they're the greatest, but they work. (Had a couple of the cheapies run for 12-14 hrs a month for over a year each.) |

Tutlejon didn't ask what's the cheapest brushed motor that works. His question was in reference to a brushed motor for his competition crawler.

Holmes is by far the best motors on the market backed with excellent support for a dedicated competition rig I wouldn't run anything else. That being said I have several of the RC4WD motors and have to recommend them also. They have good power, good control, long life, and their cheap.

| Re: Best 50$-ish motor? LOL, you really have no clue what you're talking about. If you don't know the difference between a Brood or HH modified motor and a 540 can motor then you shouldn't give advice or defend the person that stated a 540 can motor would "work just a well" in Turtlejon's COMPETITION crawler. That's just plain bad advice and no I don't approve of it. Go play devil's advocate somewhere else "Eric0424". Yes I know.

Cotton your kind of being a dick. He obviously interpreted the op's request differently than you did. He asked about budget brood motors so suggesting other budget options doesn't seem out of line with his request. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk |

Thanks. It's just a byproduct of dealing with an idiot. Recommending a $10 Rc4wd can motor for a comp crawler is just stupid. Last edited by Killa-Cotton; 03-13-2016 at 01:45 PM. |

Having two handfuls of Holmes and Brood motors, the debate is close to a moot point as to which is better. Unless you ask about a Brood Axle Buster. Sealed can motors don't hold a candle to a good motor. They're literally throw away garbage. Akin to a Tamiya silver can. |

Thanks everyone! I found a great price on a Holmes expert 40t from the crawler shop, right here in Phoenix, so I went with that.
