Killed 7950, does 7980 also have this issue? So this happened to my 7950, does anyone know if the 7980 has this issue? I am not too worried, this was after a long time of beating on this servo, doing jumps and I think a backflip finally broke it. New casing is on the way, 8 bucks, so not a big deal really. Hard to see in the pic but inside the gear is a ring of black plastic that was around the flat plastic blade of the sensor, and is part of the plastic casing. I noticed the servo horn could move and was flexing around on the bench. Probably would have stripped the gears if I hadn't noticed. The only thing holding the gear in place was the plastic blade of the sensor. http://i.imgur.com/juiDiK9.jpg This also messed up the gears a little, didn't notice till I cleaned them up a little. |
Re: Killed 7950, does 7980 also have this issue? I've had this happen a few times, replace the case piece and go crawl. Hi-Tec should make that part out of aluminum. Not sure if the 7980 has this problem. |
Re: Killed 7950, does 7980 also have this issue? The 7980 has the plastic case sections like the 7950. They're not the same cases, but both are plastic in that area. |
Re: Killed 7950, does 7980 also have this issue? I've had the same thing happen to a 7950 but none of my three 7980's. |
Re: Killed 7950, does 7980 also have this issue? My 7950 failed in the exact same way once. |
