Default Brushless brake settings.

Hi All,

I have a 13.5t brushless in my twin hammers but when I have the brake set to 100% in the ESC it still will not hold the car in place and will roll.

How can I make it so that my brushless motor will hold the car in place on a hill or is this only a brushed luxury?

I mainly use my car for bashing but today I though the brake was on (was holding the trigger all the way forward with 100% set in ESC) and it rolled backwards.

PS, I had ALL brake options in my ESC set to 100% for testing (initial, drag, Max force).

I am running a hobbyking/Hobbywing 120A and I have the USB controller.

Pushing the trigger forward should prevent the car from rolling forward, and possibly activate reverse.
To keep the car still you must leave the trigger in neutral and rely on the drag brake.
I've read that the drag brake isn't very efficient with brushless motors though, so it might not be sufficient. (My LCC has worm drives, so drag brake is a non issue for me.)

You need a motor with strong detent torque or larger diameter rotor. race style two pole motors have very poor hold.

Thank you, sorry for late reply.
I am using a trackstar motor so that might be why. I might be upgrading to a 550 SCT motor, do you think that would hold?

Marginally better. If it is large rotor two pole SCT race style you will have poor startup compared to motors designed to crawl.
