The Holmes motors are amazing!
I have a 3500kv Puller pro, on 4s, in my C2 XJ..

Ran a MMX(micro) and a 2200kv S, in my Troyota. But wanted more Powah!
It's running a BLE and 3500kv on 3s.
But might be trying a 3300kv S on 4s, sooner then later..

I found a great 4s battery from SMC that fits into the same space as all my other 4000 and 5000 mah batteries and it's still 3600 mah. Plenty of juice for almost 2 hours of crawling and the occasional ridiculous display of excessive power. Holmes (and 4s) FTW!
Is the 3500 just a bit too much speed, or is there another reason you prefer the 2200o on 4s? We did start carrying 2700kv that would be similar speed on 3s

For this specific crawler build I was doing at the time yes, 3500kv was just a tad too much wheel speed for me even geared down as much as possible. As soon as I ran your 2200 in that build I knew it was where I wanted to be and gave me a better wheel speed window as far as tuning with the pinion. IMHO, The 3500 is the perfect motor for a rig that does a bit of crawling but also a bit of trail running, rock racing, rock bouncing etc. I wanted the 2200 because I knew this build was going to spend 100% of its time below 10mph and 75% of that below 5mph. The only reason I tried 4s on it is because I could and boy am I glad I did. I feel like I lost nothing in the low speed control area but gained everything in torque and wheelspeed. It reminded me of how much I gained when I first made the jump to your 3500 on 2s. I gotta say, I love that you're giving us all these options and I'll be checking out that 2700 for sure.

On a side note, I ordered and just received an ESC, BEC, deans plug combo from you guys the other day and requested waterproofing and soldering of everything so I would basically receive a plug and play RTR package and I just want to say how great of a job you guys did on everything. If anyone is considering not only products from Holmes Hobbies but also services, I would highly recommend doing so. When I opened the well packaged contents everything looked so professionally done, just like it came from the factory this way. Keep up the great work guys!

Welp..... I pulled it and have the 3500 reg WP coming to go with the BLE in OPIE.
As I've already upgraded the axles to SSD , driveshafts still a 5mm MIP , but did just build a SuperShafty bombproof trans, so I'm ready.

The 3500kV has too much speed for my liking in my Bomber.

The 3500kv/3S is good for me because sometimes I just want to cut loose and kill some hills or there's a perfectly stubborn part of the trail that requires me to put the hammer down. Past that though, anyone I've handed the rig to has immediately whiskey throttled it, so it definitely requires some finesse to drive compared to the brushed setups. I would like to try the 2200/4S but that's not in the budget for right now.

Also, I'd like to mention that my Axial Wildboar HD shafts have survived all my hill climbs and other goon actions since I built the Spawn kit, but if people want to go straight to MIP as a precaution then it's understood.

my worry too....I'm just not sure the 2700 would have enough wheelspeed on 3s

How is the power comparison to the 3300 stubby. Looking into a 3500 to replace the stubby that didn't like my heavy jeep.

Not quite twice the torque and power, but close to it.

Default HH Puller Pro 3500kv standard owners?

Have my first HH motor in.

I will say I had a hard choice between a Puller Pro and a Roc 412....

I had a Tekin 2 pole running off my BLE.

Both are great torque motors, Came down to the Holmes was a few $$ cheaper with equal reviews.

I'm confused about the claims I've read though that this is a sweet crawling buttery smooth motor.

It is all of that but it has to be the single most Violent motor I've ever run.... Yes it is silky smooth with just a touch of the trigger,

But get "stuck" ....nah, a bit more throttle and I'm jumping out!

I will say I was surprised to actually have my slipper slip and save parts.....WOW!!
