Default Can a radio/receiver be limiting servo movement?

So I have an SCX10. My issue is limited steering angle. Like maybe 15 degrees from straight, I see people getting 45 degrees and SSD is claiming 58 degree.

If I take off the servo I can get much more steering. So i've isolated the issue to the servo. I had a savox waterproof servo, so I bought the new savoy 1210, only to find that this didn't solve the issue. I unplugged this and plugged a new stock axial as-3, same issue. So with all these servos I'm only getting maybe 30 degree total swing.

Im using the RC4WD radio and receiver XR4 4-Channel 2.4Ghz Transmitter/Receiver Radio, Could this be the issue?

The end point adjustment doesn't move the servo until it reads 20% If i back the endpoint to 100% or 120% I get no more movement. Same endpoint.

What am I missing/doing wrong?

Odd indeed. I found a glitch with my Spektrum setup where if I was set to anything over 100% travel when I bound my tx to my rx, that it would limit how much overall throw I had. However it does not sound like it relates to your issue at all. Sorry I don't have any good ideas for you :(

Are your EPA's set up right (End Point Adjustment). I was having an issue like that on an older Acoms Transmitter, turned out it had an analog EPA set to minimum.

The description in your link says the radio has EPA, so make sure it is set for more travel

set your dual rate (DR) st. adjustment to 100%
and the right/left st. end point adjustment (EPA) to 100%

does doing that improve the servo's throw ?

This seems to have fixed it. I can now steer all the way until the knuckle maxs out.

Thanks for the tip

good

but you should probably back them off just a little bit
to ensure you're not over stressing the servo's endpoint throw.

in otherwords... max rates may be hard on the servo
if the knuckles are hitting to hard at max throw.
Don't want to damage or wear your servo prematurely.

I did end up moving the endpoints in to about 94%.

It seemed that the rate adjustment was causing my issues. I could never figure out what good the endpoint adjustment did if I had to have it all the way in at 20% to limit my steering.

So now that the rate is set I get more steering and the endpoints actually make adjustments near the 100%.

So endpoints are set in to 94% which gives me much better range then before, but limits the steering before I get into mechanical binding or stress.

I have gained nearly double the steering that I had.
