TX/RX for a hacked Turnigy 9X

Hey guys,
So I have my first XR10 being mailed to me and I have a Turnigy 9x remote ready for it, but I realized I dont have a RX, and sort of a TX for it. Is there a simple combo that anyone has that works well?

I do have a OrangeRX 2.4 module for it, but no RX for it and it has been a pain to use with a drone I have. It doesnt remember bindings so I'd rather not, but I just want some recommendations.

A product specialist just recommended this to me. He said it would work but I'm worried. Aren't the servo connectors and such all 3 prong? This looks like 2 pin connectors.

That rx has 3 pins on each channel. If your having issues with a spektrum module not keeping bind. I dont think this is will be any better as it is just a knock off spektrum rx.

You could get a Turnigy or flysky module for fairly cheap and the $5-8 Flysky/Turnigy 3ch receiver. I have nearly a dozen models with a new model GT3C and they're rock solid & never interfered with Spektrum/Futaba/etc radios among my group.

The orange receiver linked above should work, presuming your tx is the dsmx/dsm2 model.

I would recommend getting a Frsky module

Also, you said a hacked 9x. What firmware is in it and/or hardware?

I would highly recommend checking out ER9X

Personally I'd rather get an FS-i6 & upgrade the firmware for that price. I've seen tests well past a mile and for $13 over that module you also get a receiver. It can also work with their 3ch receivers & 8ch with the upgraded firmware. The frsky would be for doing crazy range, FPV, telemetry, etc - not really for an XR10.

frsky has a rock solid connection....I would trust it way more than any flysky connection.

And they have cheaper modules than the xjt, but the xjt has all the fancy goodies if the firmware supports them (I'm pretty sure er9x does). Stuff like model matching (So your model memory is bound to a specific rx).

Cheaper one (DJT)

And rx's are affordable. Small and light

I don't want to sound like a jerk, but you do realize that XR10 = slow crawler, right? Not a fpv quad, not a waypoint plane, etc. Frsky may have a rock-solid connection, but so far my 7mo old GT3C has had less issues than any of the Futaba, HiTec, Spektrum, etc that my buddies use - and their issues aren't from a radio messing with their signal like some old Flyskys did to some crappy Spektrum receivers.

For a single model, maaaybe the Frsky. If you will only do surface with that & may get more models, get a take-off Flysky module & $5 receivers.

You do realize I sell Flysky products?

Their stuff is great for the price but FrSky is even better.

The only reason I don't sell FrSky mods for the gt3b/c is because the soldering involved is too much for avg Joe.

But if you have a 9x that a module can just plug into it then it's well worth it.
