Default Brushed esc with silent mode?

Im looking for something not quite as expensive as the holmes esc's with a quiet or silent mode. Not that i wouldn't want something like a brxl its simply that i don't need all the bells and whistles nor can i justify spending that kinda money on a toy that only gets pulled out 2-3 times a month to go trailing.

Any ESC that has a programmable frequency output can be made to run quiet. Just set the frequency to 16khz or higher and that whine will go away. But, since brushed ESCs are considered yesterday's tech, specialty places like Holmes is about your only option and specialty means $$$.

It doesn't have "silent mode", but it is pretty quiet. It's also inexpensive and waterproof. It has a drag brake, but it's not adjustable for strength. It is the HobbyWing QuicRun WP1060.

Tekin FXR is silent, tiny size, but cost about $95...great brushed esc though. I hate the high-pitched whine of ESCs.

So you hate outrunners too eh?

I like super quiet or the sound of electronics sounding like a turbo spooling up.
