Default RC4WD Beast II setup

I picked a kit last weekend, I have not even tore into it yet.

I am wondering if anyone could give me advice on servos and a radio.

I am going with a holmes hobbies set up for motor and ESC..

When it comes to servos for shifting and steering I am kinda lost. I figure i do not need a super high end servo for shifting. However I want a good one for Steering. Any recommendations?

In my previous crawlers, I had the MT4 for those, however, I sold all the cars and the radio. I am not sure what would be a good fit. I plan to eventually install lights and winch in the truck.

Any radio recommendations would be wonderful as well!

ProModeler Servo - best $80 servo out there, IMHO:

420oz-in v4

That sounds good!

I am still looking at radios. Airtronics makes me a little worried if I get other cars. The cost of the other RX will add up..

Any advise from anyone?

Seems like many around here like running inexpensive FlySky radios. There's a thread on modding them for next to nothing to get tons of functions.

I have the new model Futaba 3PV but the receivers aren't that cheap. Haven't run it yet, though.

The servo's and radio going to depend on your budget and how much your willing to spend.

For the servo's I would say either hitec or futaba.

For the radio either futaba or spectrum. I would get a 4 ch radio at the very least.
