| Good motor or good esc
As a student I can't afford both a good motor and esc so I have to sacrifice the quality on one of them. My two options are: Axial AE-5 and a Holmes hobbies Crawlmaster pro 16t Or Holmes Hobbies tourque master BR-XL brushed esc/Tekin FX-R and a Axial Trailbreaker 35t Or if you have any other recommendations Thanks |

Get yourself a tekin fxr kit that comes with the motor. I've seen them on sale for close to 100 for both the fxr and the 35t motor. Very good stuff. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk |

Go with a good esc over a motor. Motors are wear items, and even a high quality motor will need to be rebuilt. A good esc on the other hand will last year's with no maintenance. Plus there's nothing wrong with the cheap can motors for general fun. They lack the feel and refinement of the high end motors, but will get the job done, untill you decide to upgrade. NO to the Axial AE-5. If you want something similar, for a much cheaper price, get a HobbyWing WP1060. It's waterproof, has a non adjustable drag brake, but can also be used without drag brake should you ever decide to run it in a basher. And it will outlast the Axial one. HOBBYWING North America — QUICRUN 16 Brushed ESC As snapon said, the Tekin FXR is amazing if you want a higher end ESC with adjustable drag brake. |

What kind of rig is it going in and whats kind of use crawler, comp, trail, ect? Do you already have an external Bec? What servo are you using? You need to make sure the new esc has a good built in bec if your not using a external one. As said above if i had to choose one it would be a better esc. Just make sure you have a way to program it. I like castle or holmes esc because you can use the same castle link for both. Once you have it set up to the computer its a no-brainer to adjust just about anything. |

I just wish it had throttle curves. That's the only thing the Castle has over the 1080WP. Otherwise it looks KILLER for the price! | |

| Re: Good motor or good esc You can do throttle curves with your radio if you have that feature. I typically prefer linear throttle curves though so it's not a big deal for me.

The hobbywing looks good, plus no need to bring your laptop to the trail to change programming.

It's going into an scx10 ii and will be used more for trailing than climbing.

Hey so we have got 2 kit yeti xl with aftermarket aluminum parts, they are starting to look like show cars and something to hang on the shelf and not use but we all know that something so much fun will never sit on a shelf. We are looking to run 6s for something more fun. We have a losi 1/8th scale buggy and they run on 4s lipo and even though they have enough power and are fun to ride my dad and I have both agreed to go to 6s for more fun. So some questions 1. What is the best combo to run a 6s lipo yeti xl with? 2. What a good esc and motor made up combination? 3.what will we have the most fun bashing with? Bump..... |

For an esc I would go with the mamba monster x. For the motor, there are a few options. First is the castle 1515 censored 2200kv Next is the leopard v2 4282 2200kv. The castle motor is about $140 new and the leopard is $75. The leopard is an 82mm long motor. The castle is 75mm. Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk |
