Received the DS3225MG today - it's got a taller case than standard servos, even a touch taller than the ProModeler 470oz-in.

Should be perfect for use as a 1/8th buggy servo, as I noticed my Team Associated Nomad DB8 (based on the chassis of the RC8 and SC8 racers) uses 2 spacers to elevate the RTR servo.

Removing one or two of them should allow it to fit as intended.

The increased size is likely because of larger components, explaining the higher torque available at a still-affordable price.

Might hit upper links if mounted on-axle with flipped servo mounts...(?)

BTW - I've spotted this servo over at Banggood.com for $14.99, so as long as you can fit it in your vehicle - could be quite a deal.

Pics are showing size comparison next to a JX 12V BLS (which I still have never powered up) and the aforementioned ProModeler, couldn't show my Holmes Hobbies SHV-500 v1 as it is still kicking ass in my Revolver-powered Bomber...

I'm sure it depends on the size of your equipment, capacity for production, and how many customers are satisfied by your work.

We are still talking about RC electronics, right?

Looks pretty good! Maybe the new best cheap servo? I did find a blue cased one but the red one claims to be waterproof as well. I may have to get a few of these for my Summit. Any idea on amp draw yet?

Haven't broke the stock servo yet, it's been pouring rain and I've started a new job - need some wheels-down time!

(and because I was sent the wrong color, I bought a new cage and body panels to paint up my way - and T-Bone bumpers, and Pro-Line F11 wheels with BadLands SC MX28 tires)

That looks promising, but at $45, it's going to have to prove itself to be very durable considering other contenders in it's price range (mostly thinking of the ~$35 towerpro mg959, though it is not "waterproof")

And what is it's draw on full stop? Pretty much anything over 20kg is gonna need an external bec. Which is fine, but you need to consider than in your setup, choice, skill set, wiring, etc.
Stock esc's are pretty weak - the HW1080 is 3ah.
Where is that test of all the high-power servos and what they draw on full load?

The point of an HV servo is to run directly off the battery, . Though this one only can do 2s. Wish they made a cheap wp durable servo to run on 3s.

Check this out: https://www.banggood.com/SPT-Servo-S...r_warehouse=CN

Lots of interesting specs. Runs on 6V. Has brass reinforced case. 25KG. For a great price! I was going to get some DS3225's but I might give these a try instead

What's the protrusion coming out of the bottom of the case?

Oh wow I didn't notice that. I believe it is for if you are using a robot type setup where the servo forms a joint. Probably could be cut off easily

My DS3218 running off a HW1080 is quite budget friendly. Faster, smoother and quieter than the stock servo in my Redcat Everest 10, and all that I'll need.
