Looks promising, especially the steel gears... Interested to see what the pricing comes in at, as I've had good luck with PowerHD in the past.

How 'bout this little guy? https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01LS...rb_top?ie=UTF8 Rated to 7.4v and puts out comparable torque to most other metal geared micro servos. It sure is skinny, but I don't think that would be a problem for mounting in place of a typical micro servo?

Those PowerHD servos look nice. I've had no problem with their other servos. I just wish all servos would come with all black cases. It looks silly to have a bright orange Savox perched on top of an axle.

That one looks promising, standard micro size, above average power, and 25t so I actually have servo horn options. I could definitely afford to turn my bec down a bit to run it, my steering servo (Futaba A700) is supposed to still make 944oz of torque at 6.6v!

Ordered this one to try out - has 2 different specs quoted, will wait to see what the packaging states upon arrival:

DS3235SSG Coreless Servo

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Operating voltage range: 5-7.4V
Operating speed ( 5.0V ): 0.1 3sec/60 degree
Operating speed ( 6.0V ): 0.12 sec/60 degree
Operating speed ( 7.4V ): 0.11 sec/60 degree
Stall torque ( 5.0V ): 29kg/cm
Stall torque ( 6.0V ): 32kg/cm
Stall torque ( 7.4V ): 35kg/cm

It's another DS-branded servo, and mentions IP66 water-resistance. Fairly priced at around $37.

^^ Like.
Now curious about power consumption - did you find any specs?
Good power and steel gears for less than $40? Brang it!!

Got this servo today from Amazon - took some pictures comparing it in case height to other servos:

DS3218 Pro, DS3225, ProModeler PM470, the new DS3235sg, Traxxas 2075X (dead), JX BLS-12V7146 (melted wiring exiting case)

It's exactly the same size as the Traxxas servo, and shorter than the other 2 DS servos - making it an easier swap for most RTR servos.

We shall see how it performs... I'll report back to this thread.
