| Need receiver recommendation to go with FlySky GT-3C
Title says it all. I know nothing about receivers and cant find much info on the forums about them. Are there any gotchas, or will any FM receiver work? (Also, feel free to recommend a better entry level radio than the FlySky GT-3C...!) |

FlySky GR-3C receiver. Should be under $10. I see there are now 3E / 3F versions as well. Been out of the FlySky stuff for a while so don't know if the 3E or 3F are compatible with the FS GT-3C transmitter. Had no problems with the FS GT-3C and ran it for about 6 months mainly because it was cheap and I could have control for multiple vehicles on a single transmitter. You'll find lots of people on the forum using this controller. If you have the version with the rechargeable Li-Ion battery, a spare battery is a good idea as the battery invariably dies when you are at the farthest point from home base. Perfect, thanks. It should have dawned on me that they would also make receivers. |

With a hacked gt3b or 3c you can use up to 8 channels. Even the 8 channel rx is under $10. I have a hacked gt3b and stock gt3c....great radios....

The GR3F RX is supposed to handle more voltage run thru... I replaced my GR3E RX because it failed to hold up to 7.4v run thru But FS still includes the GR3E with a new GT3-C TX I bought a couple GR3F RX on ebay... maybe $ 20. ish shipped to my door. The GR3F will definitely handle higher voltage... And I've read of others claiming to have run 8v thru without failure. Tho' I've not pushed my luck. I've gone as high as 7.4v, run thru my GR3F RX, without failure. But 5.0v - 6.0v is what the majority of ESC's internal BEC supplies. And an RX shouldn't need more then 6v to run well. So now I run the HH's "Y" RX by-pass adapter to supply the servo directly and my ESC's internal BEC supplies 6.0v to the RX. No good reason to push the RX voltage above 6v when there are better ways to wire things up. -------------- I believe you could also run the FS 6 or 8 ch RX. Tho' that'll leave ya with a bunch of open aux. ports... Unless ya do the TX firmware/re-flash upgrade offered by LosiKidd Doing so nets you 6 functional channels controlled by the GT3-C TX. ------------------- Disregarding the TX firmware/re-flash and 6ch RX upgrade... Buy the GR3F instead of the GR3E 'cuz unless you get a dud... it will hold up better to higher voltage use. |

With my flysky radio I run several receivers. Redcat, axial, some hobbyking, some turnigy, and of course flysky recievers work. I can usually find redcat recievers pretty cheap. People in my area are in love with specktrum radios, so I buy the redcat recievers that they pull off their RTR bashers for around $5. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk |

How long did the receiver run 7.4v before it died? I've been using them for testing my 4WS controller and feeding GR3E's a full 8.4 volts. They also charge via USB port, meaning you can use a cellphone power bank to charge it while you're using it. |
