| Re: Hobbywing Quicrun Waterproof 1080 Brushed Crawling ESC They're on your programming card - I just gave the descriptions instead of the numbers, i.e; throttle start full soft is #12, value 1, drag brake rate is #10-1, max reverse force #6-1, etc. The manual describes the function of each setting, so you should really play with them enough so you understand the characteristics of each and what changing them does to how the rig reacts. That way you can fine tune it to YOUR liking on your rig and driving stye. They are easy to change in the field as well, simply turn off the esc, plug in the programmer, turn on the esc, scroll to the setting you want to change, adjust the value, then hit OK. Turn off esc, remove programmer card, turn on esc - try it out. |

In other news, Ryan Maifield (RC 2WD and 4WD World Champion) just showed up at practice for the Championships with HobbyWing sponsorship decals all over his Yokomo buggies, and HobbyWing North America's main man in his pit area... (No word yet on his recently extended contract w/Team Orion) Kicking ass & taking names! |

Not on the 1080, since it actually works, but I've removed them from several other esc's by just clipping it off and soldering the 2 wires together, then heat shrink over that.

Is it possible to reverse the motor direction with the program card? I don’t see it when I look through the options on it nor in the manual.

Ah, I should not have had the leads soldered directly to the motor then. Back to the hobby shop...

| Re: Hobbywing Quicrun Waterproof 1080 Brushed Crawling ESC It does, and after looking at the program card I think I can get it to act how I want to with just reversing the throttle. Going to try it here in a bit. Thanks for the thought. Update: I was able to program it to act just like normal while reversing the throttle. Paired with a Holmes trailmaster 27t in a trx4. While you can reverse the motor with the esc or radio, you are far better off to change your motor leads - motors are designed to run in one direction with your radio selecting forward and reverse. |

A zero timing motor won't care about the difference, and any motor won't know where the "reversal" happens anyway. Servos and ESCs don't have a fixed "right direction" judging from stuff I've owned, some need the channel reversed by default, some don't. | |

I've seen people discuss removing the power switch. I actually prefer to have the switch but one of mine is getting glitchy. Is there a recommended waterproof replacement?

Failure reports are few and far between... so I'll add one A buddies 1080 smoked its BEC and a flysky receiver during a comp last weekend. A small melted wrinkle on the bottom of the case and a nasty smell. Honestly we can't tell if it was the Rx that took out the BEC or vice versa, but there it is. The ESC was enclosed in a box with 2 small holes in the bottom, not the smartest move thermal-wise, but the owner says it wasn't overheating. Luckily another guy had a replacement on hand which helped my buddy win the comp. Yaaay. |

Hi...read all these pages but didn't found the info I was looking for Have a 1080 paired with a HH torquemaster 35t on my scx10. What I can gain on messing with the PWM settings? can I ruin the ESC or motor in the wrong frequency? |

Hobbywing Quicrun Waterproof 1080 Brushed Crawling ESC And using Google, this: "Adjustable PWM Frequency & Advanced DEO/Freewheeling Technology The adjustable PWM frequency combined with advanced DEO/freewheeling technology guarantees users great throttle linearity and driving feel." "The instructions with the ESCs say that higher PWM might make high-revving motors run more smoothly, but higher PWM will cause the ESC to run hotter" And this post: quickrun 1080 esc settings I've forgotten what I've set mine to, probably the default - but I am using it with a HH 550 Trailmaster 21t...
