| FS-GT5 vs DX5C
I understand one is 2x as much. I had ordered a gt5 but then I drove over my Traxxas controller and had to buy something so I bought a DX5C. Now the gt5 has come in. I don't care about avc. Just want something that is precise as far as steering and throttle goes. I do have battery telemetry set up on the DX and that's great but all it really does is feed my ocd fear of running out of batteries. I carry 2 2200 spares so the knowledge doesn't help me in any way. I like the lighted screen on gt5 but don't want to unbox it and set it up to test the difference if I'm just going to return or sell it. Hoping to find someone with experience with both that can give me some insight into the real world differences between the two. Thanks |

I’m very happy with my GT5. Super easy to use and make adjustments on, not too heavy or bulky, receivers can handle high voltage and can be had for less than $20 for 6 channels. Although sometimes it can take a while to get receivers if you can’t find them stateside. Tough to beat overall imo. While the DX5C is quality hardware, it doesn’t seem as simple or intuitive to use. Most likely user error but when I’m on the trail and someone is struggling with their remote it’s almost always a spektrum dx5. Just an observation as a bystander though. With all that in mind, I haven’t found a reason to spend up for the spektrum and have no plans getting rid of my gt5 |

My only complaint with the gt5 is the trigger pull seems too weak. I would prefer a bit more resistance and have been toying with the idea of opening it up to change the spring. |

I actually like the low trigger pull of the GT5. My finger tends to go to sleep if the trigger spring is too stiff.

+1 on GT5. Hands down easiest Tx to program I've ever had, and I've had a few. I don't even know where the manual is at this point and it ain't needed. All my rigs have custom Expo, End-Point-Adjustment fine-tuned and this Tx makes it all super easy. I don't have the DX5C, but compared to my wife's Futaba 3PV, features are about the same, but there's no contest in terms of ease of programming. Matter of fact just the other day I was setting up a new car for her on the 3PV and had to break out it's manual to change system for the new Rx, what a pain. In use the GT5 works fine. No, it doesn't have the "premium feel" of big $$$ radios, but it gets the job done. One neat feature it DOES have is a 3 position switch which does a great job on the 3-speed transmission on my Tamiya F-350. |

I love my FS-GT5. Granted I've never tried the DX5C but I couldn't justify the price when the GT5 works perfectly fine for me
