So, I am obviously very stoked about this... ("liked" just about every post in this thread!)

Nobody has really mentioned one of the changes Robert listed - reduced audible alarms option!

robert@castle, I am curious - does this boil down to the ability to make the Mamba Monster X (for example) a much quieter ESC during use?

I am hoping to minimize as much beeping as possible...

Running with a HH Puller Pro 3500kv Standard 540 and a Futaba 3PV radio, and I have a Castle Link Duo coming tomorrow in the mail!

You can disable all beeps if you want to run in a 'stealth mode', it will be quiet while parked.

just saw this thread and I will be upgrading my firmware as soon as I get the chance. Sounds like a good improvement.

Also great to have a company that quickly responds to customers needs. The Spektrum 4dxc has been out for years and has plenty of firmware glitches but have they bothered to update the firmware, with nothing on the website but empty promises without substance the answer is, no they have not.

Well done Castle.

Awesome! The "data full" beep was annoying as hell... The "idle" beep was slightly less annoying.

Also, has anyone played with the SmartSense vs 100% Sensored for the Mamba X? Curious how both work for strictly crawling and trailimg.

That guy looks solid. Any idea of complete settings?

Well, I ordered myself a MX to replace my MMP in my Bomber, paired with a 3500kv Puller Pro. Anyone care to share screenshots of their setup with a similar motor? I am very new to sensored brushless.

It's not hard to learn. Use the standard settings and then slowly adjust one thing at a time when you notice something you don't like while driving.

Fair enough. Problem with the Bomber is its a pain in the ass to access the receiver plus on the ESC lol. I'll figure it out tho

Very true. Get the Duo Link from Castle and install that so you don't have to open the receiver box each time you want to make a change. The Duo Link is basically a remote programming port. You need the Duo because the MMX has the Auxiliary Wire.

Sweet my MMX start up was kind of annoying so I'll be updating asap the only other issue I have is there no throtle curve adjustment for reverse I'm running 40% reverse power to reduce the sensitivity of reverse I would like full power but with a much softer smoother start up in reverse

I just updated I realized I was running v1.66 so I'm sure that was my issue lol thanks yo

The brake curve is used for reverse.

Question on the Rock Race/Crawler mode.

when it's set to crawler, we can also have the drag brake set to full in this mode?
then in Race mode, the drag brake can be set to 0 or whatever we choose?

I have 3 MMX and another on order, but they're home so I can't check at the moment. Thanks for the clarification!

The drag brake is adjustable from 0% to 100% (formerly "Full Crawler On-213%") via the Aux Wire signal. 0% drag brake is at 1.1ms and 100% drag brake is at 1.9ms.

Check out our help page for the Rock Racer/Crawler Mode Aux wire setting; it should help clear some things up a bit.

The Rock Race/Crawler mode is making me even more excited that I picked the Mamba X for my Bomber build.

Managed to gain a little time to test it today.
I setted Drag to 10% reverse enabled so rock race mode includes 0% to 10% Drag. Above Crawler mode.
Got the issue that i never gain 0% Drag even with endpoint set to 120%.
It worked before in Drag break mode without issues.

Couldn't do much testing today cause i melted my spur

Just finished with installation of new one. And now it's night, so i have to wait till tomorrow.

I updated my sons Monster X. I initially followed Example 2 in the X-series Rock Race/Crawler Auxiliary Wire Mode instructions. I wanted more Drag Brake before it would go to Crawler mode. I moved the Drag Brake to 50%. I hope to test tonight.

FYI, bench testing has shown the motor to be a lot nosier at start up.

Awesome! Was hoping for the ability to switch between crawler and rock racing brake via Aux wire.

I never figured out how to use the aux wire though - what mode should my DX4S be in for that channel? 2P, 3P or Linear?

Linear should give you the ability to proportionally add drag brake as your turn the dial.
