I run the 4pls, and use the 3 position switch to change between rock race and crawler modes

I have the 4Pl and use DT3 switch to adjust drag brake on channel 3. I have it set so each time I click it it moves 10%. Then, the ESC is set to 50% drag brake. With this setup, I can have Racer mode up until I go over 50% drag brake then the ESC goes to Crawler mode.

Read that people say this ESC will make the Puller Pro XL very smooth at startup, any videos? I have two XL laying around and thinking on getting a Mamba X

I have a puller pro 540xl in my bomber paired with a mamba monster x.. its smooth, not quite as smooth as my roc412 paired with a mamba x 1:10 in my 10.2, but it's still damn smooth.

I think I figured out how to set the DT1 switch on my 4PL to channel 4. I have it set at 10% so each time I click it moves 10%.

With your setting of ESC to 50% drag brake when you click on the switch one time (10%) treshold does it mean you are at 60% drag brake and now on Crawler mode?

Yep. I may change it to each click is 20%, but so far this has worked for me and my son's Bombers.

FWIW on the post of Puller Pro XL. We have that in my son's with the MMX and I have the Puller Pro Standard in mine (both 3500 Kv). The new firmware did make the XL smoother, but still not as smooth as the Standard.

The new low KV 1406 motors are now listed on our website. All of them are rated for 2-4s use

2280KV: MOTOR, 4-POLE SENSORED BRUSHLESS, 1406-2280KV
2850KV: MOTOR, 4-POLE SENSORED BRUSHLESS, 1406-2850KV
3800KV: MOTOR, 4-POLE SENSORED BRUSHLESS, 1406-3800KV

There will be a 1900KV as well, but I guess we havn't finished the page for that one yet. The motors will be arriving at our facility early next week and will hopefully be shipping out to customers by the end of the week.

The motors will be sold in combo packs with ESC's in the near future with both the Mamba Micro X and the Mamba X.

Are these the "crawler specific" motors that were mentioned on your company's Facebook page?

Price looks good, page said low start is "under control" change in these motors, vs the 2650?
JRH said due to racing background these will be poor slow startup ?

Why such a small motor? I don't see a whole lot of use for it

We have had many people test these new motors in our beta tests and at USTE and everyone has been blown away with the low speed operation of these new motors when paired with the 2.02 firmware.

As far as I know, JRH hasn't driven our sensored motors yet(maybe he has, but I know he hasn't driven these new ones) and is only going off what he knows about our motor designs from our sensorless motors.

Compared to what? I don't see the use in the huge motors but the new guys think that's what they need. Never made sense to me.

2850 to 3800 is a big gap. There should be a 3400 too.

I prefer 540 sized motors, rotor length being the main reason

1900kv is up: MOTOR, 4-POLE SENSORED BRUSHLESS, 1406-1900KV

Small? In what way? It's a pretty standard size if you ask me.

JRH made a comment on here about info that was given to him. At that point he admitted he hadn't had a chance to drive one yet. I have no idea if he made other comments or has driven them by now.

I agree especially when the competition has 3100kV and 3500kV, but you can't please everybody. And Castle fans tend to be more of the "I'm gonna put a 9700kV and 8S in my crawler LOLz" type of crowd.

I tend to believe most people prefer 540 sized motor. A stubby 540 may be desirable in a light weight scx10, but that motor would have no place being in a 5+lb 1.9 rig or any 2.2 rig imo..

It's a 36x44.. tiny ass can and probably a way smaller rotor than HH stubbys. Of course castle doesn't advertise that because people who run castle combos just want brushless because their buddy has a brushless emaxx and his truck is fast.
I love my castle ESC's, but I think they made a big fail by not designing these motors in the 1410 and 1415 sizing..

Small motors usually use less energy.

The difference in run time between a tekin 1512 sized 1400kv and a tekin 540 1400kv is about 2 hours.
