| Servo problem?
Not sure if this a problem but I thought I would run it by you guys. I have a digital Hitec servo, HS-7954HS that was running great and actually still is. With the power off, normally I could steer the wheels freely with no bind to the servo. I could do that with all of my cars. But now, with the power off I can't move the steering at all. I thought I busted some gears so I opened it up and everything looked good. Put it together and everything was still seized or so I thought. I decided to power it up and see what it did and it works just fine. Steering couldn't be better. Any ideas what changed?

Yeah my servo is wired from the batteries via a Castle BEC. With your broken gear pins, were you able to still use it under power and if so for how long? If totally goes out on me I will definitely look for it. |

Are you 100% sure your switch is disengaging from the power source fully ? Does the servo's turning bind when the battery is unplugged ? I'll doubt a pin would break as they are normally durable. But it's possible the plastic seat the pin resides in might be cracked or chipped or the plastic seat has become out of round or the pin is not straight ? If it continues when the power is for sure disconnected... Then the problem has to be gear mesh. Possibly due to a shifting pin not keeping the gears properly meshed. Time to take the gears out and inspect the pins, seats and gear teeth. Also make sure the bearings turn smoothly and are intact. |
