Default 850~1300mah batteries

anybody use these turnigy nanotech 850mah 3s packs? They are only 25c, will they hold up?

https://hobbyking.com/en_us/turnigy-...lipo-pack.html

Team brood has 35c packs, but they are 17.99 vs 7.99 for the nanotech.

Im running mamba x with holmes puller pro 2200kv and a SSD ox winch. If I go to 4s to reduce current draw, I will have to install a BEC to limit the volts to my servo to 12.5V. The BEC adds another 1.0 oz, and will negate the weight savings of going to such a small battery pack.

I will be doing both trail and crawling in my toyzuki v2 (soon to be built).

Gens Ace 850mAh are popular items which you could choose.

Does that matter? I assume the comment is because the packs are over twice the price of the nanos... which is 25c pack versus 35c pack, hence part of the price difference...add in most of the companies listed above skeet the shipping rules when bringing in packs, while I don't and pay the surcharge as required by law...hence the difference in price as well...

I assume you are associated with team brood? I have no problem paying for a premium product, I just want to know if it's worth the premium. My biggest thing is I'm not sure how well this small of a battery will work out in my rig. On top of that will my 6lb rig draw too many amps for this small of a pack? I do trailing until I get to the rocks. Guess I'll just have to try a pack. Thanks for the responses.

0.85Ah x 25c = 21 amps...

I did a really dirty amp test on my Wraith ($10 35T) and it spiked over 30A in tall, wet grass and 20A continuous. At best your esc/motor will see a decent voltage drop from the battery, at worst it will puff up like a bag of popcorn. To give you an idea of how a crappy battery can affect things, I have a 30" boat that draws 100-120A - my 3600mAh 40C (144 amp) Turnigy hit lipo cut on the 2nd or 3rd pass (yet read at 4.1v at rest). Meanwhile I can make dozens of 40+mph passes with a 5500mAh 45C Gens Ace (247 amp).

Eddie, I'm curious wtf you're talking about. A standard container has dropped as low as $215 to ship from China to west coast USA. There's no import tariffs on chinese lipos AFAIK, and no major fees/precautions needed for lipos in a steel shipping container. There's also no extra fees required for them to send a typical lipo order out, it just has to be marked and under a certain capacity total (which is actually quite large).

While some may ship lipos by container, which can be cheap...and there is little extra fees. Companies rarely ship that stuff by container and many of the LIPO companies will not ship them by container, though some will if you go with an in between. Keil, who is the company that makes my lipos, will not ship container...only AIR....Lipos by air have a hazardous shipping charge, $150 per order, regardless of size....not crazy, but still adds to the already expensive amount to ship batteries. Being friends with multiple of the bigger companies that import batteries into the US....most are shipped by air, just how its done by a majority of the companies. Bigger companies make bigger orders, so the fees have less of an impact on their overall price....I do not, batteries are a small part of my sales. I don't make very big orders, so the fees are a major impact on price.

And there is totally tariffs on imported batteries, unless they are lying on the invoice, which again my company I deal with will not do.

I explained why my packs cost more....its not like I made it up.
