:lmao: that gif is perfect! I haven't tried all of the motors out there, but of the ones I have tried the ROC is still my favorite crawling motor.

This motor is longer. It looks like the standard ROC isn't getting the element proofing which is a shame. What are the drawbacks to a longer can?

(Quietly waiting for the first person to complain they're not rated for 13S LiPo batteries :lmao:)

You probably need to run 13S to get any wheelspeed out of the 500kv version. :lmao: That has to have all the top end RPM of an 80T brushed motor, can't imagine much demand for that particular wind.

Otherwise the motors look great. "thumbsup"

500kv, wow... What's the application?? 6s is getting that to turn a little.

Wow that is an odd kV to offer! That's your granny gear motor. :lmao:

I also wonder which applications they are targeting. RPP says it's only rated to 4S.

It may just be an across the board voltage limitation. That thing will be grudgingly slow at 3s or 4s.

4S is the max, but it's not across the entire line of ROC HD motors. See below.

Input Voltage: 2S - ALL
3S - 3100kV / 2300kV / 1800kV
4S - 2300kV / 1800kV / 1200kV / 500kV

So is waterproofing the big difference between these and the Pro4hd? I was looking at a Pro4hd as an option for my next motor, but if these have the equivalent wattage, are waterproof, and they're actually a few bucks cheaper, I guess I don't see any drawback?

Not without work to the link mount and/or raising the trans.

Exactly. Plus more kv options.

" The ROC412 HD is not intended for operation while submerged in liquid."

Yes... But will it work anyway?[emoji12]

No
Armature size and can size are different.
Power levels are close though.
The roc412 3100 and the Holmes Puller Pro 2700 are real close .
My PullerPro came waterproofed

Ask Josh aka Coleman, he runs a 10/1 gear drive on 3500's

That's probably just a CYA disclosure.

Re: New Tekin ROC HDs!!!

Castle stuff has the same disclaimer.... industry standard warning.

BTW - these are 550 can size, matching the Holmes Puller Pro XL to the millimeter in size.

Mods will be needed in some vehicles to fit.

Upgrades will be needed to withstand the POWER!

Re: New Tekin ROC HDs!!!

I thought it might just be to cover themselves against stupidity, but at the same time it seemed pointless to built a "splash proof" motor when people use em in TTC events with lots of water.
To me, it's either submersible, or it's not waterproof enough [emoji23]

Wrong, roc412HD, pro4HD and holmes XL are 550 cans. Same specs on rotors and cans.

Your talking about 540 cans.

It's nice that they come with dielectric grease. Just use it and cross your fingers!

Re: New Tekin ROC HDs!!!

I'm sure Jato will be like oh this guy.. all he knows is Castle and Traxxas.. well kinda, but not entirely true. I think this new Tekin motor will be my first venture with using Tekin. Looks like it will fit the bill for a super smooth start up brushless replacement in the Trx4. Stay real low with the kV like the 1200 and use the 2 speed necessary for wheel speed.
