Default Trinity D4 17.5

I have a spare Trinity D4 17.5 sitting around from racing clay oval. I am going to purchase a Mamba X this week and was wondering if running this motor would be a bad idea. It is vented pretty good so some type of shroud/ cover would be necessary I would think. Am I just going to kill the motor? Any input would be appreciated.

Nope, just a comp truck. If you plan on going through some water or mud you'll probably want to look up waterproofing a brushless

I already conformal coated the sensor board. I was just wondering if the motor being vented would cause more issues

I ran an old D3 17.5 in my SCX10 for a while, it did fine in the normal dirt, rocks, sand, & leaves of the woods but I never really ran it through water since nothing on that truck was waterproof.

Conformal coat the sensor board, turn the timing to 0, and run it.

It is just sitting there so I plan to anyways. It does say "Monster Horsepower" on it, so I am hoping for great things, lol.

56T spur and either a 12 or 13T pinion (32P) on 3S.
