Puller Pro vs Crawlmaster smoothness?
 

So I bought a rig that had a BLE/Puller Pro 2200Kv. I'm contemplating swapping out my Mamba Micro/13t Crawlmaster. Can anyone shed some light on the bottom end/low speed startup?

If the BLE/PP wasn't waterproof I would have never thought of going brushless.

Brushed is still smoother. Nobody will convince me otherwise. But the PP and my MMX are pretty smooth in my Bomber. What rig are you talking about?

I have both of those setups nathan. I like both equally. Weight is another thing to consider. You could run a Holmes br mini with the crawlmaster and cut like 3 oz off your wt.

That being said, I love my mamba x and puller pro 2200kv. Smoothest brushless motor I have. I will be doing a teardown and comparison of the castle 1410 motor, tekin roc412 and the puller pro.going to try to get it photographed and written up monday. Going to waterproof the Holmes puller pro. I already did the tekin roc412.

Castle ESCs always seems to be physically larger than the competition for whatever reason. The X series is more competitive. The best part of the X series is the Auxiliary Wire. Do you have any need for that? If not smaller ESCs exist especially for brushed.

I'd go brushed in a Toyzuki unless you feel you need brushless or the Auxiliary Wire. The Tekin FXR, B1R and HobbyWing WP1080 are great brushed ESCs.

A Crawlmaster is the definition of smooth and controllable among my motors, you can expect any other motor to be as close as possible but not quite as good. The Puller Pro is the closest in brushless though, so give it a shot and see how you like it.
