The sport is geared too high for that and brushless is more for speed. Get th 9t pinion and 45t spur. On 3s you will be amazed at the difference on the stock motor.

Otherwise 1000kv revolver? But it will run hot.

Ok looking for advice gentlemen.....

I scored a pair of new Castle Sv3's for a song recently and am looking to pair them with a brushless motor in the 1800-2200kv range. I like to hit the ocassional mud and water, so I am not sure a revolver would be a good choice.

Suggestions?

Should I just bite the bullet and get a Trailmaster and Mamba x?

Any brushed motor under $20. I ony buy 2200kv brushed motors myself, and I wouldent use a Sw3 for crawling over a 1080. If you want a nicer motor you should also get a nicer esc imo.

The startup on the older Sw3 is not great. They also don't have active drag, or adjustable drag. So if it's for bashing and not crawling. Maybe an enexpensive ebay chinesium motor.

You should get the puller pro 2200kv. I don't think any one ever really buys those old trailmasters.

I want a motor with more torque for my Redcat gen 8. I am currently stock. I will be occasionally having a truck on it. I want some speed but not to fast and I want to stay brushed. Any suggestions?

Just putting the finishing touches on my SCX10.3. Got my motor and ESC, ended up with a Mamba X and a HH Trailmaster sensored brushless 2700kv. My question is how do I change motor rotation without the Castle Link? I have that ordered, but of course it is on backorder.

Default Have tech questions? Will answer.

There are a lot of castle links on eBay, both wired/Bluetooth and the card.

So that’s an option if back ordered.

If obtaining one tiny now isn't possible, do you know anyone in your general area who has one? They could help you get your initial settings 'in order', so that you'd have an operational vehicle, at least until you can do further programming yourself. Maybe, post in here what city you're in, and, just by chance, someone who is local to you will take notice, and offer to help.

You can also try to find the Bluetooth module. Costs more but it could be a solution.

Castle needs to include Bluetooth INSIDE the mamba x ESC. Who cares if it costs a bit more, it would be so much easier...
Hobbywing did it, yeah the range isn't great but again, how far do you work from your bench or truck on the field?

With the HW, it isn't just that the range "isn't great"...it SUCKS. If I recall correctly, 3ft is the maximum, as reported by most who've tried it. If you're on the driver's stand, and the vehicle is right in front of you on the track, it won't work, as that's still too far. At least the Cattle BT Module works closer to normal BT max distance.

I was afraid of not being able to do that. I agree it should be in the box. They give you a code to redeem a free one, but then are backordered. I am in Santa Cruz, CA. I am mostly worried about direction of rotation than anything else, until I get the link. Thanks for all of the advice.
