Servo failure = savox 9 times out of 10. Other servos may blow the 1st gear or split the case, savox just die without warning.

The brushless from savox isn't so bad, but the brushed drivers and motors are quite terrible on quality.

I typically don't use Savox. I think I've used 3 Savox servos. None of those have failed on me. I typically choose other brands.

Even your subconscious is telling you to not run them.

I would rather not have a elcheapo servo fail 30min into a 4hr crawl.

Missing a 10min race? meh. I ran HK servos for years, they died occasionally, but nothing major was lost.

Subconscious or the fact that they're noisy and that annoys me!

1230/1231, 1270/1271 etc savox are noisy failure prone junk. 1283 and 2290 are quiet and bomb proof. Not cheap junk by any means.

Your data set of 2 is statistically irrelevant.

Those Savoxs sell because they’re brightly colored blue, screaming to the the beginner crowd “Buy me, I’m waterproof”.
These Tekins better be waterproof for that price ( the crawler versions anyway)

I haven't had such luck, but I'm brutal on servos. I've broken every servo I've tried except savox 1283/2290 and a promodler V4. Everything else from the bottom of the barrel solar to hitec 7980's have died in my usage.

My 1230s (3 in use) haven't failed in the year I've been beating on them. And I'm not nice...

I also haven't waterproofed them and they get submerged regularly.

I wrecked three HH HV500s before the last one was replaced with the V2. It's in my B1B with a servo saver so it's really untested as of right now...

I've got a 1283 as well, but it's living in my Arrma Talion.

So far, I've had GOOD results with Savox. My two Hitecs have been good as well. 7954 and 7955.

Some info posted on Tekin's FB page last week, you probably skipped over this post unless you care about carpet on-road racing.

Their smooth action is helped by the built-in encoder inside each model. He pointed out that most servos go past center in order measure it and then go to center, but in this case there is no need for that, making the servos ultra fast and precise. For you tech nerds out there, the servos can measure down to .1 degrees of travel and are Tekin Hotwire programmable. A unique feature is the ability for the servo to be set at center even if it isn't set before installation. A quick process and center is set without the need to reattach the servo arm. The servos will be competitively priced with other high-end servos on the market. The servos will be supported with a lineup of servo arms in aluminum, plastic and combo of both. :
And don't worry about the price because they will be right in line with those $200 Futaba and KO servos no one buys.

4WS sucks.

$300 in servos. You could have had another RC kit.

Not everyone wants 72 rc's packed with mediocre parts. Some only want a few full of good parts. 400 Oz is about as low as I'm willing to go on a servo unless it's a go fast rig.

Those prices are way higher than they will end up after release, which should be more in the $139-159 range. Not quite "stupid prices."

As for torque specs, a lot of the claimed numbers out their are dynamic torque, or slamming the servo to get such high numbers. We rate ours to true torque, so the T-440 is 450oz/in at 7.2V, Dynamic Torque was closer to 600oz/in. Once the servo heats up obviously torque drops as warm components don't work as efficiently. That's where we spent a ton of time tuning the servos so they don't fade as bad. They are also super precise because we use a magnetic encoder instead of a potentiometer. All will be listed on the site soon after official release. Tower wasn't supposed to put them up yet.

A lot of us want both. I have cheap rigs as well as "fully built" rigs using high quality stuff.

I knew those prices were Tower's typical, inflated pre-order prices. Good to hear!

I'm sure they will be as good as the rest of Tekin's products.

Tower is becoming the king of leaks.
