Default Been a while

Finally getting back into my stress release hobby and trying to get my son into it what's going to be the cheapest way to go as far as electronics for a crawler for him I already got a ax10 scorpion kit on the way I know I'm looking for a 55t so I don't have to worry about full throttle into a wall

There's a LOT of cheap options atm. For motors, RC4WD & GoolRC offer some decent cheap motors. For the ESC I'd recommend a take-off AE-5 or 1040 from ebay or a Hobbywing WP-1060 or WP-1080. If you also need a radio, Flysky really can't be beat. A GT-3C or FS-GT2 would work great and extra receivers are only $5-9.

For batteries it depends on how old he is. If you get the WP-1080 and he can recognize lipo-cut, I'd get a Gens Ace 2200mAh 25C 3S or the 4000mah. SkyRC ac/dc charger would be a good deal to go with a lipo. Otherwise get a NiMH 6-cell as it's safer for younger kids. A Redcat/Hexfly batt/combo would connect right up to the right AE-5 esc pulled from a Redcat.

Sweet thank you looks like all the stock esc and motors that people are pulling off the axials are being sold for brand new price that's what I was originally looking for what's a good price on those that I'm not getting ripped off

Yep, they're great for upgrading bashers or fixing dumpster finds. The take-off esc's are usually $15-25. Motors are usually $10-20 range. The better HW esc's are usually $20 and $45 for the 2 models IIRC, a bit less if you get it from China.

Also if you plan on running 3S or more than 6-cell NiMH, consider a cheap Hobbywing BEC. Running high volts thru the AE-5 makes if very hot from it's internal BEC. With an external BEC and 3S, my AE-5 is nearly cold.

I plan on getting him a 55 turn I don't want him to be able to go full throttle with a lot of speed and smack into something
