Default Older Airtronics 94358 with Spektrum DX5C

My son must have tapped the front pretty good on the bomber and the Savox SW0231 will need a gearset...;)

I figured I would swap one of my trusty Airtronics servos but when I connect it to the receiver, the amber led goes out and the red led flashes...thus going into perhaps a "failsafe" mode? No throttle or steering unless I remove the 94358 servo lead.

The red and black are in the same spot, blue on the other end.....any ideas?

From what I know of Spektrum, that's the indicator that the receiver lost power recently while in use. My guess is the servo is shorting +V wire to ground, leaving enough voltage to run the receiver (1-2 volts) but not the servo/esc. When you unplug the servo, does the ESC go through the normal start-up beeps?

When I unplug the Airtronics servo, the amber receiver light will return within a few seconds and the red led will stop blinking, restoring normal operation .

I also tried binding @ 22ms to no avail.

Does the servo work with a different receiver, preferably a different model or even brand? Can you check if there's continuity between the servo's red & black wire?

If it works on different receivers, all I can say is I've seen a multitude of people having problems with Spektrum & virtually every known brand esc/servo.
