| Tablet for Castle Link
Has anybody ever used a windows based tablet to use castle link in the field? The Bluetooth module is cool and all but $$$ for multiple vehicles. I don’t actually own a tablet but it looks like there are several pretty cheap options available. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

I had a Windows based Dell Venue Pro that I used to run stuff like that. I think you need to find a tablet that runs x86/x64 architecture instead of ARM running full windows 10. I've since sold that tablet off, because I have a Surface Pro which I can do way more on though.

Depending on the esc the castle esc link app will work. It is only good on the older firmware (pre mamba x) but it works well for the older stuff.

I bought a Microsoft Surface Go for around $350 at Best Buy. I use it solely for running Castle Link and Tekin Hotwire in the field and it works great.

Yeah. The Bluetooth module is like $50. I have 3 MambaX and a sw4. I’m a iPhone/iPad guy and confirmed the app doesn’t work through the charge port with an adapter so was curious about windows tablets. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk | |

| Re: Tablet for Castle Link Plugging in the B-link is about as much work as hooking up the Castle Link, you could buy 1 module and plug it in as needed instead of buying 1 for each ESC.

The issue with tablet windows is whether or not the tablet can be a USB host. If you can plug the cLink into the comptuter and have it recognized, should be no problem. It's hit and miss whether they are compatible. If you can plug in a USB thumb drive and have it work, you are good.

Most small Windows tablets don't have a full sized USB port and I've had mixed success with OTG adapters working properly. Winbook makes a 8 and 10" Windows tablet that has a full size USB port that works really well for Castle Link. We have a few of the 8" model and it works really well. The 10" Winbook TW102 is currently on Amazon for $120. Specs wise it's not great, but it works quite well for what it is.

I got tired of the Bluetooth but hadn't had an actual computer in years (except at work) so went to Walmart and bought a cheap laptop and it works fine for on the go, I just put it in my bag or back pack.

The bluetooth adapter is nice for quickly tweaking a setting without ripping apart your vehicle. I only have 2 crawlers with mambaX's so decided to just get a second BT adapter. Castle should give you a coupon for half off a BT adapter instead of giving you a free link cable ;)
