Default Bec protection

I have a Castle BEC for my SCX10ii, I was wondering what is everyone who uses a BEC doing to attach/protect/waterproof their BEC, not too crazy about stuffing it in a balloon, don't think it will look very nice or clean. For example when I ran my nitro truck I put the Failsafe in an old film container (kinda aged myself there for all the "young" ones out there) so lets hear what you got, pics even better!

I just use some heat shrink on the ends. Not sure if they sell tapered heat shrink but that would be cool.

I fill the ends of mine with show goo and then I use some of a black long skinny balloon (you know, the kind that clowns use to make balloon animals) around it for double protection. There's a few pictures on page 2 of this thread taht show my latest install: http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/hpi-venture/593111-my-build-2.html[/URL]I fill the ends of mine with show goo and then I use some of a black long skinny balloon (you know, the kind that clowns use to make balloon animals) around it for double protection.

I take it out of the heat shrink, dip it in conformal coating a few times (dip, dry, dip, dry, dip, dry), put the heat shrink back on it and call it good.

If your waterproof RX box is big enough, just stuff it in there.

If you use goo, make sure it's quite flexible. The PVC liner they use doesn't lend itself to adhesives, so chances are it will break the seal if abused. I'd also not recommend double-bagging. Balloons always leak, and all you're doing is keeping moisture around it 24/7 rather than splashing it on occasion. I have a Henge but I pulled the exterior off & applied several layers of urethane conformal coating then applied corrosion-x to the wire solder joints.

This is the way.....Conformal coating, a dab of dielectric grease on any connector
