Anyone Familiar w/DX-6 or equivalent....

This is for a Clod super...and the way I have my controls set up may be weird to some of you...so bear with me ;-)

Right now I have the radio set up so that the left gimbal is ONLY my front steer because it does not have the throttle return spring. The right gimbal controls the throttle and my rear steer.

I am trying to figure out how I would set up my radio (DX-6) so that I can run dual ESC's AND dual steering.

It's easy enough for me to get the other ESC hooked in as the left gimbal throttle so that I can control the esc's/motors seperately (and I'll do the return spring mod). The "mixing" is where I start to get fuzzy. I want to be able to mix the 2 throttle channels, so that at the flick of a switch both throttles are controlled off of only one gimbal's throttle channel. That way I can switch between the motors being run individually and the motors running together.

Anyone out there know this "mixing" like the back of their hand? TIA

1st off... fix the radio for the spring. It is not that hard.. Takes about 1 hr or less to do.

..

After that is done.................

If I recall correctly, I would have to go get the book to make sure, but

put your throttle on channel 1 (throttle)
put your 2nd esc throttle on channel 4 (rud)
then front steering on channel 2(ail)
rear steering on channel 3( ele)

That way, all throttle is on your left gimbal and all steering is on your right gimbal

Then you go in and go to Mix A.. Change that to mix A14 . move left gimbal and make sure both are set to 100%.

This way, when you push the left gimbal forward, all 4 wheels spin... push it left and it will front dig only. push it left and down a bit and it will front dig and hold the rear axle, etc.etc....

After you get the 100% set.. reprogram the esc's...

as for mixing the steering, I am not positive on that yet, as I have only programmed my DX6 to my 2.2..... The super is next

So, I assume that you can't mix channels from one gimbal to the other? Seems like it would be easier to drive with the steering as the side-to-side on each gimbal and the throttle to each motor being the up-and-down on each gimbal. Maybe it would just be some getting used to the way you're suggesting.

I thought the same thing as you until i tried the way TC has described above.

The big benefit is never steering while trying to throttle and vice versa.

you probably can mix each channel from both gimbals, but I have seen people try to drive that way and it didn't work out too well..

JIA is the one who told me to wire it up like that and it works great and very very simple. With wiring it the way your thinking of, makes you have alot of stuff to think about when driving. Your concentrating more on what your hands are doing, than what your truck is doing.

you need to read JIA's therad on the dx-6, I think many of your ?'s will be answered there"thumbsup"

Right on...I'm going to look that up now. Thanks for the info. "thumbsup"
