I'm so glad I asked you guys before buying. I've been so back and forth with ask this servo stuff. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna go with the promodeler 470. Right now they're on back order, but I'm gonna send the link to the wife anyway. From what the website says they'll be back in stock mid to end of this month. Thank you guys again! I'll be going a comparison video of the power hd 20k & the promodeler once I get one. Have a great day!

If you like to play in mud and water like me. You would need waterproof servo.

Right now I have the steering link screwed to the outside hole on my apex servo horn. If I put it on the inside hole & reset my end points I should get a little more out of it, correct? Will it hurt anything by doing that? Sorry for the totally noob question

Ive killed 3 savox servos one over heated to the point it stoped working one just died out of the blue the other one stripped the gears replaced the gears and then it smoked out i think im gona jump on the promodler band wagon for my next round of servos i have some $4;servos ive been running for years on my clod crawler and some smaller rigs and there still holding strong after years of abuse but i did go through 7 of them befor i found 3 that lasted still cheap and i have lots of spare parts lol there tbe same gears that traxxass used i replaced the plastic traxxass gears with tower pro gears and it works great an a 12th scale

This. Performance wise the few that I run have all met expectations. Now that I’m doing more extended crawls the noise of the savox is grinding my gears a little bit more; I’m out in nature trying to hear what’s going on around me over the buzz of someone getting their haircut, which is really just the servo.

Eyeballing a reefs 555 as an eventual upgrade.

Not big on the mud & water. I know that's how I use to tear up my 1:1 rigs all the time. Was a blast till it broke! Electronics & water is asking for something to break. I can't afford allot so I try to take care. If I fry something cause I was messing in water aka where I probably shouldn't be. I'd be pissed. Mud is allot of fun but I try to limit my time in it. Broken rig sitting on my bench = no crawl time. No crawl time makes for an unhappy Justin.

Conformal coating is cheap and will waterproof anything!! Way better then any plasti dip and you can get it from amazon

I have two 1230s in my 2.2 Wraith and Arrma Talion. Zero issues. They are noisy tho. And not water proof. But I packed mine with some dielectric grease and it goes swimming often enough.

Take that as you want.

The ISO-TIP soldering paste is just another companies attempt to make soldering easier - I have not tested it yet, but it was cheap.

The middle stuff is the actual conformal coating, you can "paint" it on circuit boards inside servos to waterproof them.

The silicone compound is silicone grease that is dielectric, adding a lubrication that does not allow arcing in electronic components - it won't hurt rubber or plastic either.

You can put it on your electronic connectors such as those for your batteries, servos, motors, etc - and it protects against moisture and corrosion, too.

No complaints on my 1230sg. I plasti-dipped mine (sprayed on a few layers, shoe goo on the inside/outside servo wire opening) and done quite a few stream crossings. It only makes noise sometimes but its not bad.

Much better than the stock servo on the TRX4
