The biggest problem with wheel weights is improper distribution of the weight. This is why steel wheels are fine, but if you are adding weights you really need to make sure you balance it correctly or you are going to constantly destroy bearings.

Update: went with a Holmes 30T. Got a smoking deal on it along with and FXR.
This week I geared it down. 32p 10 tooth pinion and 60 tooth spur. Other than a 9t pinion, I cannot gear any lower....
Truck is twice as fast as my old truck. Not as much torque. Still crawls great but nothing like my old 45t. I still need an under or overdrive in an axle.
Anyhow, I'm seeking a trade for a 45t Holmes if anyone interested. Or, can Holmes rewind a motor for cheap?

You could go with 48p gears, I set may initial start to be softer though, either way, never stripped a gear. right now you spur pinion is 6:1 it could be 9 or 10:1
Also a 550 can will fit in a wraith if you put some washers under the transmission, that will also give you more torque and the higher rpm motor will give you more power.
My scx10 with a 2 speed was geared to 100:1 and the stock 10 dollar 35t motor had plenty of torque from the gear reduction.
Also xtra speed makes wraith width high pinion aluminum axles that have lower scx10 II gears in it that will slow you down and add torque.
Making the 30t motor a better choice.

You can get more Torque at the wheel through gear reduction, then you can get from a higher turn motor almost every time.
