| CastleLink and an HPI ESC
I got this ESC some time back and it can be programmed fairly easily with a single button. I run it in a Bomber setup like a SCT and it's a blast. The ESC looks to me like a Castle rebrand for HPI and I was wondering if it would connect to a CastleLink. Anyone know if it would? #101712 Flux Rage 1:8th scale 80Amp Brushless ESC |

Not gonna hurt anything by plugging in and see if the link recognizes the esc. Hang up and Drive |

I tried it but it didn’t connect. Figured I may have downloaded the wrong software but after looking again it’s only one download.

That ESC is not a castle product, so it should not be able to link.

| Re: CastleLink and an HPI ESC Yes. We made custom versions of the Mamba Max Pro, Sidewinder 2/3, and Mamba Monster 1/2 for them. For the most part they were stock Castle controllers with a different label and software version number. There were minor firmware changes on some of the sidewinder models to suit the vehicles they were putting them in. |

Well, well, well. I found some software to program some of HPI’s ESCs and tried it with the CastleLink cable...no bueno. So while I had the Rx box open I tried a few cards I’ve got and of the three the HobbyWing for my brushed crawler worked up to the 12th parameter. Good enough for me to dial down the punch and brakes at least.
