New practice adopted!
Just make sure you remember to slide BOTH sets of wires through the heat shrink tubing before you start soldering.

The speakers on the sound kits are only 4 watts IIRC, so it would draw less than a high-power LED bar.

I do the same thing, got some 10pks from china for a few bucks. It's really handy for accessories or even simple diagnosis. One reason I like 5.5mm bullets now is they're separate leads so no shenanigans de-soldering because you forgot the shrink tube!
