Traxxas TRX4 Bronco light kit

I've changed out my stock Traxxas ESC to a Hobbywing 1080 and thinking about getting the Traxxas light kit for my Bronco, Does anyone know the voltage needs for the Traxxas system?

The Traxxas Lightcontroller is just a DC/DC converter which puts 3V 500mA out. So you need 3V if you use the org. Traxxas Lights.
To get the 3V you can use a adj DC/DC converter from ebay which are really cheap (got 4 for 3$) there are several ones, that what i did and they can put out up to 3A

Interesting do you have a link? Have a pic or a diagram how you wired it up? One other question do you think a one cell lipo at 4.2 volts would be too much voltage?

just search for Mini 3A DC-DC Konverter Step Down Buck on ebay


wiring is easy solder on the 2 input and the 2 output cables then use a voltmeter to adj. the output Voltage over the little screw
Afterwards i used seal spray (liquid pvc) to waterproof it

4.2v could be too much, theres no information about the tolerance of the traxxas stuff
