Bec placement

Hey
So I'm building rc4wd bully 2 comp crawler with Holmes hobbies torquemaster br mini dual esc. I'm going to run their BEC for my steering servo and I'm wanting to know what's best to mount to the ESC or to the plug? The ESC mount option will shorten the battery lead which I'm thinking will be good for less wire clutter in the chassis. Is this a good option or should I just mount it into the wiring at the plug?
Hope that makes sense? Its one of the options when ordering the ESC and bec.
Thanks
Snyds

Personally my 2c worth is I would have the BEC on leads from the battery plug.

My truck isn't the Bully chassis but is the Bully2 axles & I have the 2 esc living in the chassis sitting on the skid & the BEC is on the front axle right with the receiver & close to the servo.
I couldn't have got the BEC into the chassis.

Other point is I've seen more BEC fail than I have ESC, it's easier to change off the BEC from the battery plug than getting the ESC's out & be soldering on them.

That makes sense, think I'll go with that. Do you have a special Mount plate for the RX n bec on front axle? Or are they just velcro'd or something. Iv seen some cool carbon electronic mounting plates on front axle you can get with a spot you can mount battery behind the motor. Might look into one of them.
Nice rig to by the way.

I scored some Dravtech carbon parts out of sponsored prizes at a comp a few years ago,
the battery mount

Bully2 Battery Mount – DravTech

& the electronics mount
which fits over behind the front motor which is where my rx & bec are. I did however re-make the lower plate smaller as in that size it fouled my links

These chassis shots below aren't mine, I think they came from the Bully2 section on here RC4WD Bully at RCCrawler.com, but they show the 2 parts fitted better than any shots I've got of my truck

Another option if your capable of a bit of sheet metal fab is a fairly simple Z bend bracket,
I don't think Rowdy Racing does these anymore, I haven't seen them mentioned for ages

I mounted my bec inline in front of my BRMD. Both were then shrink wrapped and lay flat on the skid. Wires and plugs go the the front.
