Default Light issue SCX-10ii

Hello all!

Today I attempted to install a little tow truck orange light bar. It had a standard 3 plug receiver plug on it, so I plugged it into the receiver into channel 3 and I could operate the different modes and even turn it off with the channel 3 buttons on the remote. However as soon I go forwards with some haste, the lights turn off and will not turn back on with the buttons until I unplug the light and plug it back in. Then it works again until I drive the truck again and it turns off again.

I have the standard remote and receiver for the SCX-10ii RTR also running an 8.4v 3000 mah NIMH battery.

Pretty stumped here, first time wiring lights but I don't see why this isn't working.

Thanks in advance!

All I can think of is that the BEC in your ESC isn't strong enough, either get a Hobbywing 1080 or an external BEC like a Castle or a heyok.

or the NIMH voltage sag is to much for the lights to understand, borrow a friends lipo and see if it still has the issue.
