Default No Reverse!

I bought the axial 69 Blazer a few weeks ago. Everything is good but I have no reverse! Wiring all looks good.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

John

ESC settings? Does your ESC have settings?

Is it a bind issue? Rebind your Tx/Rx.

Broken Tx?

Check your differentials. Is it mechanical?

Call Horizon and talk to a rep. They might send you a new speed controller.

The ae-5l esc does a crappy automatic calibration, do these two things. does the light on the tx and esc change when you try to go in reverse, does the motor make noise when you try to go in reverse?

Setup:
Throttle calibration should not be needed out-of-the-box. However in order to make the
throttle range of different transmitters, the calibration of the ESC is necessary:

1 Mount the ESC in an area that is well ventilated and isolated from vibration and shock.
2 Connect the ESC motor wires to the motor red-red & black-black.
3 Plug the receiver with into the throttle channel on the receiver. The black negative wire should be
towards the outside of the receiver.
4 Before plugging the battery into the ESC, make sure your transmitter is on and the throttle trim is set at
zero.
5 Connect the battery to the ESC, this will turn on the ESC.
6 Test forward and reverse control using the transmitter.
7 To calibrate the ESC, make sure the transmitter is on and the throttle control is at neutral.
8 Connect the battery to the ESC and wait 3 seconds to let the ESC initiate a self-test and automatic
throttle calibration. When the ESC is ready to run a long beep sound will be emitted from the motor.
9 Always disconnect the battery when the vehicle is not in use.
10 Connecting the 2 LED wires to the ESC. The wires should color match.

BIND THE RECEIVER TO THE TRANSMITTER
For proper installation and operation of the 2.4GHz transmitter and receiver
system, it is necessary to “bind” them together electronically. This ensures
sole communication between the two and prevents other transmitters from
being able to control the receiver. To bind the Tx and Rx:
1. Turn on the transmitter.
2. Apply power to the receiver (see the INSTALLATION section that follows
for how to do this).
3
3. If the receiver’s LED fl ashes once and then stays on, the Rx is already
bound to the Tx and you can skip to the next section. Otherwise, push
and hold the receiver’s “BIND” button until its LED glows red and then
turns off after about one second.
4. Release the bind button.
5. If the binding is successful, the LED will fl ash once and then remain ON.
6. Test for proper Tx / Rx functionality by completing the next section. If it
doesn’t seem the radio has bound properly, repeat steps 1-6 above.

I finally had a chance to try your suggestions, but it didn't fix it. The light on the esc blinks really fast when I try reverse. The motor doesn't make any noise.

I will give Horizon a call on Monday and hopefully get a new esc!

Thanks for all the suggestions!
