Default Scx10ii electrics

Just about to start build and want to feed 7.4v direct into my savox 35kg hi servo. Problem is my rx I believe is only rated for 6v! Can just run positive and negative wire from servo into main Battery feed and the signal wire into the receiver steeringg channel?
I also considered a cc bec but assume that would push 7.4v into receiver before going out to servo?
Any advice appreciated

Along with the Castle BEC you need the Holmes bypass adapter with will simplify your wiring.

Very good plan!

This kind of restates what you wrote:
