Default No throttle after installing BEC

So I just finished my install of the CC waterproof BEC in my Axial SCX10 ii. I'm running the stock RTR electronics on the rig still, so AE-5L ESC, Tactic TR325 RX and Tactic TSX45 servo. I followed the CC diagram exactly. Soldered red and black leads to their counter parts at the ESC connector. Pulled the red pin from the ESC connector at the RX and plugged both leads from the CC BEC into the RX. Steering works great but i have no throttle. I assume this has to do with the removal of the red pin from the ESC lead. I can put it back into the connector but was under the impression it needed to be pulled to eliminate the internal BEC. What am I missing here?

Edit: Also the ESC lets out 3 tones detecting the battery but never finished the calibration so the LED just blinks red. Also at one point i reversed the ESC and servo plugs and with the steering wheel on the TX i was able to input throttle.

test if it still works with the BEC disconnected and the ESC red wire plugged in.

Looks like reverting it didn't help. So then evidently my ESC is toast?

Edit: Actually if i reverse the inputs on the RX the throttle will work with the steering wheel so I dont think the ESC is toast.

Try removing 1 of the BEC leads and see what happens. Swap 1 with the other and try. Also what is the BEC voltage set to?

Oh did you recalibrate the throttle to esc?

Yeah, I'm thinking the same.

I'm not quite entirely sure what you mean by 'I was able to input throttle' Did the ESC work while hooked up to the steering channel, or did the servo work while hooked up to the throttle channel. If the ESC worked with the steering wheel, then it sounds like the ESC is fine and it is an issue with the receiver. I have seen that happen before.

Try rebinding the radio to the receiver as a first step.

Sounds like you need to calibrate the throttle or you've got some throttle trim applied.

If the ESC detects the battery and then stops, it is not seeing zero throttle and therefore not arming.

Yep yep. You may try reversing your throttle channel, or adding trim until it arms.

He is still running the stock ESC so those instructions don't apply in this situation.
