It uses the same pwm as every other motor. It is possible to make an esc with a higher pwm bit it will also alter the performance. I dont remember what will change exactly but I think higher pwm makes a car less Punchy, increased heat in the esc (or motor, I don't remember which) and maybe smoother control. I assume there would be a limit to this increase kinda like overclocking a pc.

I very briefly experimented with putting a small container around the revolver and quickly gave up, It did very little but to create an echo chamber. I also worried about it trapping debris that the motor might ingest. It might be possible though, I put minimum effort into testing it.

I was a bit exited that this item could have a cool name too, Revolver Silencer or something.

I run mine mostly at a within-the-city-limits mountain biking park, and the clacking sound of their rear hub engagement pawls can be heard from much further away!

It's funny how the more expensive the wheelset is on those MTBs, the louder they clack.

I guess it's their version of some Harley riders "loud pipes save lives" thing!

My MTB's mid-grade Shimano hubs are nice and silent...
It's cause they're shifting under load, imagine dumping the clutch on a truck with it matted the whole time, same thing hehe.

You can get a similar result by gearing down and increasing motor speed with any other motor. From what I have seen the 1800kv revolver on 3s and 50:1 isn't any better then my 100:1 scx10 on a 2700kv puller pro running 4s. They have about 22,000rpm at the motor where I have about 45,000rpm. But both vehicles have the same top speed and mine seems to do better on the low end with a lower initial start speed. .

So I just did a quick test on the only similar motor I have. It's meant for an underwater thruster though so has a squeak from it's bushings but this is a 24khz pwm rate. There is still a harmonic from changeing steps but that can be made quite soft. There is no whine from pwm (Just the horrible squeak of the un-lubed bushing).

I purchased a 1800KV outrunner knowing they were noisy. Turns out the noise was worse than I thought it would be. I used it only a short time in my #1 TRX4 and just could not stand the sound. Over the winter, I moved it to my Spartan so that at least I can't hear it out on the water.

I know the difference between shifting under load and the clickety-clack of certain brands of freehubs - it happens when freewheeling, not while pedaling...
