| Usage of CC Field Link card
The field link programmer card #010-0063-00 is a good idea for the fast set up without a Laptop being outdoor. CC has great solutions like their quick connect duo, but the usage of this programmer is quiet clumsy. CC notes on their homepage: Neither Quick Connect, nor Quick Connect Duo will work with the Field Programming Cards when used as a standalone programmer. It will ONLY work when using the Field Programming Card as a Castle Link adapter. Has anybody found a solution how to connect the programmer without pulling the throttle lead out of the receiver? Has anyone build a smart Y-wiring for that? Gesendet von meinem SM-G955F mit Tapatalk Last edited by ToCrawl; 03-13-2019 at 01:34 PM. |

I'm not sure I understand, is the CC quick connect not appropriate? Its purpose it to make it so you dont need to unplug the ESC at all which is I believe what you are describing. Quick Connect They also offer the B-link for use with apple smart phones B-Link Bluetooth Adapter Last edited by HumboldtEF; 03-13-2019 at 05:01 PM. | |

The quick connect works by flipping which wire is connected(receiver or link wire). It picks which wire it connects by looking to see if voltage is supplied by the red wire of the link wire. Since the field link card connects to the ESC and is powered by the BEC instead of providing it's own voltage, there is no way for the quick connect to know to flip the signal wire over to the link wire. Fair warning: The field link does not have all of the settings found in castle link. It is fairly limited in scope of what settings it can update, but it does work as a full USB Castle Link. The B-Link can change any setting on the ESC just like Windows Castle Link, but is iOS only at the moment, but an Android version should be release fairly soon. Easiest solution would be to have a 3-6" servo extension wire hooked up between the ESC and receiver. Have it run some where accessible, then you can unplug the ESC from the receiver without pulling anything apart. I have never tested this theory, but I think it might work to power the field link card, quick connect, and ESC from a power bank cell phone charger via a mini USB cable. That way the voltage is coming from the field link and the quick connect will switch over to the field link and allow it to communicate with the ESC. |
